While most professional clubs in India focus on results at the top, Punjab FC is redefining what it means to build from the grassroots. With a deep-rooted commitment to nurturing talent, the club has created a world-class youth development program, not in a metropolitan hub, but in the heart of Punjab.

With 16 grassroots centres spread across key towns such as Jalandhar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Attari and Patiala, Punjab FC is cultivating a footballing culture that goes beyond the pitch. These centres are home to over 100 young athletes who train under the guidance of nearly 30 professionals, including certified coaches, nutritionists, physiotherapists, doctors and support staff. The result is a thriving sporting ecosystem that is steadily transforming Punjab into a rising football hub.

In just four years, Punjab FC’s youth program has already made a resounding impact. The club has produced 11 Indian internationals across senior and age-group levels, a remarkable achievement that reflects the strength of its academy system.

Players like Abhishek Singh Tekcham and Nikhil Prabhu have broken through to the senior national team, while others like Pramveer, Muhammed Suhail, and Mangenthang Kipgen are already making waves in the U23 setup. Rising stars such as Singamayum Shami, Omang Dodum and Vishal Yadav are excelling at the U19 and U17 levels, winning titles and individual honours along the way.

A model built to last

Punjab FC is one of the few clubs in India offering a fully integrated residential academy that focuses on comprehensive player development. Beyond football training, the program includes academics, yoga, sports psychology, injury prevention, strength and conditioning and nutritional support. This all-round approach ensures that every athlete is equipped to meet the demands of modern football — mentally, physically and emotionally.

This high-performance model, rooted in the state’s heartland, is redefining what’s possible in Indian football. By operating outside the traditional metropolitan centres, Punjab FC is building something unique, a system driven by vision, values and the power of local identity.

The club’s commitment to youth is not just visionary, it’s producing results. Punjab FC’s trophy cabinet speaks for itself. The senior team has already won the I-League in the 2022-23 season while in 2024-25, Punjab FC’s under-17 team emerged the AIFF League Champions, while the under-15 side won the AIFF Junior League Championship. The Under-17 sides have won the Dream Sports

Championship consecutively in 2023-24 and 2024-25, besides winning the Reliance Foundation Development League last year. Punjab FC’s Under-13 team won the JSW Cup in 2023, after the U-18 and U-15 side showed the way in 2022.

At its core, Punjab FC’s mission is clear, to compete at the highest levels of Indian football while reshaping the grassroots landscape in Punjab. By combining elite coaching, modern infrastructure and a community-first approach, the club is creating a legacy that extends far beyond the field.

In a state known for hockey and kabaddi, Punjab FC is sowing the seeds for a footballing revolution, driven by passion, discipline and long-term vision.
